Day 4: Counting Affliction as Joy
Reading: James 1:2-4; Luke 14:7-11

Devotional: "Count it all joy when you fall into various trials." This seems counterintuitive until you understand that trials perfect what prayers alone cannot. God uses infirmities, reproaches, needs, and distresses to build character that can sustain promotion. Like Jesus taught, take the lowly seat so the Master can exalt you publicly. Many believers pray for revival, breakthrough, and greater anointing, yet resist the very process that prepares them for it. The wilderness isn't punishment—it's preparation. Your current struggle may be God removing pride's foundation so your future success won't destroy you. Stop fighting what God is using to mature you. Embrace the process. Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be complete, lacking nothing.
