Day 4: Taking Off One Yoke to Receive Another
Reading: Matthew 11:28-30; 2 Corinthians 6:14

Devotional: Jesus doesn't say He'll remove your yoke—He says to take His yoke upon you. This means you're currently yoked to something else. An ox and donkey yoked together create disaster: one drags, one gets choked. When you're yoked to the world's pace, either you're in agreement with a killing rhythm or you're being dragged to death. Jesus offers a different partnership: His yoke is easy and His burden is light because He is gentle (meek—power under control) and lowly in heart. He never ran, even when Jairus's daughter was dying. He maintained His rhythm so that the woman with the issue of blood could catch up and be healed. When you enter His pace, everyone gets touched. But this requires exchange—taking off the yoke you've permitted and learning from Him in commission together.
