Day 4: The Davidic Rhythm
Reading: 1 Samuel 16:1-13; Psalm 27:4

Devotional: David never had to beg to become king—he just had to live in a different rhythm. While Saul chased performance and approval, David pursued one thing: to dwell in the presence of the Lord. The anointing flowed to David not because of his qualifications but because of his heart alignment. Even when he was in the field tending sheep, he was being prepared. Even when Saul hunted him, God prepared a table before him in the presence of his enemies. David understood that meekness—power under control—comes from being sustained by God's presence, not by striving for position. The church is in a season where the Davidic anointing is rising again. God is looking for those who don't care about the rhythm of performance or gain, but who desire one thing: His presence. This is the rising of the true church—those with hearts after God.
