Day 4: Riverbeds Before Rivers
Reading: Ezekiel 47:1-12; Luke 4:1-14

Devotional: We pray for God's river to flow—for healing, refreshing, and power. But God never releases waters without first forming riverbeds. A river outside its banks is destructive; within its banks, it brings life, nourishment, and transformation. Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness not just resisting temptation but allowing riverbeds to be cut through self-denial and alignment with the Father. He emerged "full of power" because He ministered to God's needs, not His own. We often ask God to meet our needs while neglecting what He needs—vessels shaped by His principles, minds renewed by His truth, lives surrendered to His kingdom. Preparation precedes manifestation. The discipline of being shaped matters more than the desire for the river. Are you asking for the river or preparing for it?
