Day 5: Prepared Vessels for the River of God
Reading: Ezekiel 47:1-12, John 7:37-39, 2 Timothy 2:20-21

Devotional: Ezekiel's vision of a river flowing from the throne of God describes water that deepens as it moves, ultimately bringing life and healing to everything it touches. However, a river without banks is a flood, and a flood brings destruction rather than blessing. God is not withholding His presence arbitrarily. He is looking for prepared vessels, structured riverbeds, that can carry His presence without being destroyed by it and without destroying others with it. The condition of the vessel determines the capacity of the river. Structural integrity in the life of a believer, in their character, their habits of assembly, their posture of prayer and praise, determines how much of God can flow through them to a broken world.
