Day 2: The Lamp of Your Body
Reading: Matthew 6:22-23; 1 John 2:15-17

Devotional: Your eyes are the lamp of your body—your sight lines determine your affections, and your affections determine your yoke. We live in a culture designed to capture your gaze: social media feeds, advertisements, comparison traps, and endless consumption opportunities. Every image you consume either feeds the spirit or feeds the flesh. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life aren't just about sexual sin—they're about any desire that causes your flesh to overthrow your spirit. When your lamp (your vision) stays focused on earthly things, even your light becomes darkness. How deep is that darkness? The church has been sent as light to the world, but if our own sight lines remain captive to cultural enticements, we cannot illuminate anything. Changing your sight line requires intentional discipline and a willingness to turn away from what captivates the natural eye.
