Day 2: Prophetic Rejection - Protection and Promotion
Reading: 1 Samuel 16:1-13; Psalm 118:22-24
Devotional: The stone the builders rejected became the chief cornerstone. Rejection will come into your life for two reasons: your protection and your promotion. David had to be rejected from Saul's kingdom because that was a rejected house, and God couldn't build an incredible kingdom there. Sometimes God cannot ease you out of a door; He has to slam it behind you and blow up the bridge so you'll never try to go back. What feels like painful exclusion is often divine extraction. You don't fit in certain places because you're not supposed to fit there. God is protecting you from atmospheres that would contaminate your calling and promoting you into places you cannot yet see. This is the day the Lord has made—even the difficult day of rejection.
