Day 3: Removing the Basket
Reading: Matthew 5:13-16; Mark 4:21-23

Devotional: Jesus asked a penetrating question: Why would anyone light a lamp only to hide it under a basket? Yet how often do we do exactly that with the light He's placed within us? The worries of life, fear of rejection, desire for comfort—these become baskets that dim our witness. Spiritual callousness develops when we become indifferent to the darkness around us, when we grow comfortable consuming the benefits of the kingdom without contributing to its advancement. A city on a hill cannot be hidden, and neither should your faith. Your light isn't meant for your benefit alone; it's meant to illuminate the path for others stumbling in darkness. Today, identify what "baskets" you've placed over your light and intentionally remove them.
