Day 5: Finding Rest for Your Soul
Reading: Philippians 4:6-7; Psalm 27:4

Devotional: The cry of humanity is for rest, but we often misdiagnose what we need. We don't need rest to sleep more—we need rest to accomplish more with less effort. This is the rhythm of tilling instead of toiling. Before the curse, Adam managed the garden by speaking; after the curse, results required exhausting effort. Jesus broke that curse on the cross. "Cursed is the one who hangs upon a tree." The curse was broken, which means in a new rhythm, you can return to managing by the authority of your voice aligned with God's. But your voice has no sound because you haven't heard His sound—you've been responding to notifications and demands. David said, "One thing I desire...to dwell in the house of the LORD." Rest for your soul comes from dwelling in His presence, learning His pace, and letting His rhythm become yours.
