Day 4: Breaking Free from Performance
Reading: Galatians 1:10; Matthew 11:28-30
Devotional: Martha was "distracted with much serving"—attentive to the needs, demands, and wants of others. She carried a heavy yoke of her own making, believing the atmosphere depended on her activity. How arrogant, yet how familiar. We've adopted the world's performance-driven culture, trying to control outcomes through our efforts. Jesus offers a different yoke: "Learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." The shift from toiling to tilling begins in your mind. Stop letting everything have your attention except God. Your service should flow from intimacy, not insecurity. When you're yoked to Him, His rhythm becomes yours—and that rhythm includes rest, simplicity, and supernatural effectiveness.
