Day 4: Burning the Plow
Reading: Luke 14:25-33; Philippians 3:7-14

Devotional: Elisha didn't just leave the oxen—he slaughtered them, burned the plow, and fed the people with what had once enslaved him. This is the response of finality. He eliminated every possibility of going back, every plan B, every safety net. He could have kept the yoke in the barn "just in case," but instead he used it for firewood. This is repentance in its truest form: a complete turning from one direction to walk in another. What are you keeping in the barn? What plan B are you holding onto that prevents full surrender? God is calling you to burn the plow—to make decisions so final that retreat becomes impossible. This might mean ending toxic relationships, quitting jobs that compromise your calling, or releasing comforts that keep you from your destiny. Count the cost, then burn what needs burning. There is no glory in halfway commitment, no mantle for those with one foot in the world.
