Day 4: The Assembly and the Praise
Reading: 2 Chronicles 20:1-22; Psalm 22:3
Devotional: When the armies of Moab, Ammon, and Mount Seir came against Jehoshaphat, his response was not a military strategy. He proclaimed a fast, gathered the assembly, and stood before God declaring, "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you." God answered through a Levite in the midst of the congregation and said the battle was not theirs but God's. Their assignment was to position themselves and praise. When they began to sing, God set ambushes against their enemies, and those enemies destroyed one another. Praise is not a warm-up. It is a weapon. It creates the atmosphere for the King to descend and darkness to collapse.
