Day 5: The Sacrifice That Opens Heaven
Reading: Hebrews 13:15; Psalm 27:4
Devotional: Hebrews 13:15 calls praise a sacrifice, which means it costs something. A sacrifice offered from a place of abundance and ease is not truly a sacrifice. The sacrifice of praise is most powerful when circumstances argue against it, when the week was hard, when the answer has not yet come, when the walls have not yet fallen. Psalm 27:4 shows us David's singular pursuit: to dwell in the house of God and behold his beauty. David did not say he came to receive his breakthrough. He came to behold. And in the beholding, the reaping was built into the sowing. This is the kingdom principle that changes everything. Come to give. Trust God to do what only he can do in the giving.
