Day 4: Worship Befitting a King
Reading: Matthew 2:9-11; Psalm 95:6-7

Devotional: The wise men's response reveals everything: they fell down and worshiped before presenting gifts. They didn't casually acknowledge Jesus or offer polite respect—they prostrated themselves before royalty. This wasn't emotional excess; it was the proper protocol for entering a king's presence. Yet modern believers often approach God casually, convinced that "He knows my heart" excuses halfhearted worship. The woman with the alabaster box understood what others missed—she fell at Jesus' feet, not His head, recognizing His kingship. Gold, frankincense, and myrrh weren't random gifts but prophetic declarations of His royalty, priesthood, and purpose. How you worship reveals what you truly believe about who God is. Don't let familiarity breed contempt. The King of Glory deserves your most extravagant, undignified, wholehearted worship.
Reflection Question: Does your worship reflect casual familiarity or reverent recognition of God's kingship?
