The Government of God

Reading: Isaiah 9:6-7; Matthew 6:31-33

From Isaiah's prophecy to John the Baptist to Jesus Himself, the consistent message was kingdom—God's government breaking into earth. We often want God's benefits without His government, His blessings without His order. But the pattern is clear: seek first the kingdom, and all these things will be added. How do we seek this kingdom? Through prayer that gives God permission to govern our territory and through praise that builds His throne. When God's government is established, His peace follows, and there is no end to its increase. Stop worrying about what you'll eat, drink, or wear. Stop obsessing over which job, which spouse, which decision. Instead, consecrate yourself, position yourself at the altar, and build His throne through unceasing praise and prayer. His government will direct your steps.
