Crying Out to God in Times of Trouble

Reading: Habakkuk 1:1-4, Psalm 13:1-6

In times of distress, it's natural to wonder where God is and why He seems silent. Habakkuk cried out, "How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen?" (Habakkuk 1:2). This echoes our own hearts when facing trials. Yet, even in his lament, Habakkuk demonstrates faith by bringing his concerns to God.
Today, reflect on areas in your life where you feel God is silent. Like Habakkuk, bring these honestly before Him. Remember that God's apparent silence doesn't mean absence or indifference. He may be working in ways we can't yet see. As you pray, also meditate on Psalm 13, which moves from lament to trust. End your time affirming, like David, "But I trust in your unfailing love" (Psalm 13:5).
